Update your RSS feeds...we're moving!

Posted by Nathaniel at 10:57 AM
Okay, we're finally ready to make an announcement. It's no surprise that we here at the Evil Network have had a great working relationship with Zoinks! Magazine, created by the illustrious Bill Charbonneau. Zoinks! is a fantastic 'zine highlighting the best (and oftentimes, unheard of) talent the webcomics industry has to offer. John and myself both write for Zoinks!, and we both blog for Evil Network. Our thought was simple: what if we combined the two?

Introducing the Zoinks! blog! From this point on, we will be doing our blogging over at the Zoinks! site. We'll still provide the same quality webcomics commentary, just at a different location. In addition, we'll be blogging about a lot more than just webcomics. Video games, movies, literature--whatever suits our fancy. The entire nerd spectrum will be at our disposal! Isn't that exciting? Yeah, I didn't think so.

So, basically, consider this the last post at the Evil Network. We'll be leaving the site intact as an historical archive, but future posts will all be made at this address:

But wait! There's more!

Zoinks! Magazine itself is also expanding! We're adding new content to go beyond webcomics and encompass arts and entertainment: movies, books, video games--you name it! The focus is still on promoting the webcomics industry first, but by expanding our content, we also expand our audience (and, in a parallel way, our potential advertisers). This way, we get to introduce the webcomics world to a fresh batch of eyes that still think the internet is just for porn.

So, to summarize: we're over here now, and so are you; we're getting bigger and better, and there's nothing you can do to stop us; and don't forget to update your RSS feeds!

Nathaniel out.

Things are quiet here...TOO quiet...

Posted by Nathaniel at 4:57 PM
Yes, we're acutely aware we have been neglecting our blogging duties as of late. There is a reason for this, and this time, it isn't just being busy (our usual excuse). I've finished my big project (successfully, I might add), and have had a chance to focus on other projects recently. The continued blackout is because we have a great announcement to make, an upcoming partnership that will allow us here to keep doing what we love to do, but likely in a new environment.

Curious? We hope so. Stay tuned as the announcement will be made very soon.

Feel free to place bets in the comments.

No, Digital Strips is not THAT kind of website

Looks like the preeminent webcomics podcast (and fellow Zoinks! Magazine contributor) is in trouble. From Zampzon:
"Here's what happened. Someone went into several previous posts on our site and made a comment on each post. The comment contained a long list of pornographic terms and links to pornographic sites."
"A few days ago we started noticing that our traffic had increased significantly. As of last night we were getting 10 times the normal requests. As of this morning we are 3% of our monthly bandwidth usage away from being shut down as a result of the traffic."
Anyone have a grudge against the dynamic duo of Daku and Zampzon? I can't see that happening. I'd hate to see the site shut down as it's a marvelous resource. Any tips, let us know.

We've moved!
