Yahoo! Instant Search

Posted by Nathaniel at 12:58 PM
Internet"Why feel lucky when you can be right?" The quote at the top of Yahoo!'s new Instant Search site is an obvious jab at Google's infamous "I'm feeling lucky!" button, just as their new service is an attempt to one-up the "I'm feeling lucky!" search capability. The trick in Yahoo!'s new technology is that as you type in your search, it will pop up the first most relevent result in a bubble below the search box, eliminating that horendously time-consuming need to click any buttons. This "your razor has four blades so we're going to have five" mentality doesn't appear to have any real palpable benefits.

At the very least, it's fun to see what pops up when you type in a search term.
